Scholarship Eligibility
1. Be enrolled or plan to enroll in a Technical Institute or University.
2. Be able to provide proof of enrollment at a Technical Institute or University.
3. Be willing to send a thank you card or letter to the Gage P. Borgwardt Foundation and a separate one to a sponsor if applicable.
4. Have a personally reported Mental Illness Impact including your own personal history or struggles with mental illness. This impact can also include a personal experience with a loved one suffering from mental illness. Be able to write an essay of 600 words or less detailing this mental illness and how it impacted you.
5. Submit completed application and essay between January 1st and April 30th of each year. Applications submitted before January 1st and after April 30th will not be considered.
6. Must like our foundation page on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter if you have these social media accounts.
7. Previous recipients can apply each year they attend a Technical Institute or University. Recipients are only eligible to receive scholarships for a total of four years.
8. This scholarship can be in addition to other scholarships or aid received.
9. After recipient is notified of selection, applicant must return acceptance form by June 15th and then enrollment verification will be requested from your school.
10. Once enrollment verification is received and approved, and a thank you card or letter is received from the recipient for the foundation and sponsor (if applicable), the scholarship funds will be sent directly to the institute to be applied to the student account.
11. This scholarship can only be used for tuition, books, necessary school supplies and living expenses.
